Joining New York in 1946, Yogi first hit over .300 in 1948. In 1950, the backstop had one of his finest seasons at the plate as he hit .322 and socked 28 home runs. Two years later, Yogi tied an American League record for catchers by hitting 30 home runs in a single campaign. During his career, the catcher hit 358 circuit clouts which placed him 14th among the all-time home run sluggers.
